Tallow is rendered beef fat. Its fatty acid profile is similar to the oils your skin
produces naturally, which is why it absorbs well. We whip it until light and
airy, so it spreads easily and doesn't feel heavy.
Because tallow is an animal-derived fat, saying it’s completely odorless wouldn’t be realistic.
When it’s properly sourced and carefully rendered, the scent should be very mild often just slightly creamy or buttery. That’s completely natural.
What you don’t want is a strong ‘gamey’ smell, or anything that lingers on the skin after application. And over time, a well-processed tallow shouldn’t develop musty or off notes that would suggest oxidation or poor refinement.
So, the focus isn’t on masking scent with fragrance. It’s on process — starting with clean raw material, using controlled low-temperature rendering, and filtering properly.
